30 April: Getting Started with Sustainability in your Arts Organisation (in English)

An introduction to the basics of sustainability for the cultural sector. This webinar will identify sustainable measures that arts practitioners can take and recommend clear practical steps for implementing those in their organisation. It looks at the importance of data, the role of existing policy and political frameworks, and which resources you need to make the transition to a greener culture a successful one.

Jacob leads Aktionsnetzwerk Nachhaltigkeit, a cross-sectoral contact point for the topic of operational sustainability in culture and media, funded by BKM Germany. In 2009, he founded the pan-European Green Music Initiative (GMI), an independent, cross-sector think tank that plans and implements European network projects as a research and innovation agency for the music and entertainment sector.

Das Webinar stellt strukturelle und strategische Ansätze vor: welche Erwartungen und Anforderungen gibt es an die Politik und an Kultureinrichtungen? Wo liegen die rechtlichen Risiken, wenn das heute das morgen dominiert und welche Handlungsmöglichkeiten haben wir, hier umzusteuern? Wir schauen uns die aktuelle globale und nationale Nachhaltigkeitspolitik an, Gesetze mit Nachhaltigkeitsbezug, politische Verantwortlichkeiten. Tabea Siebertz hat Rechts- und Erziehungswissenschaft studiert. Sie hat in einer großen Agentur Unternehmen beim Aufbau ihrer Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie und –berichterstattung beraten und war Referentin beim Rat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung, dem beratenden Gremium der Bundesregierung. Dort hat sie ein Management- und Berichtssystem für Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften (DNK) aufgebaut und die Nachhaltigkeitspolitik für Unternehmen und Organisationen mitgestaltet. Sie ist u.a. Dozentin beim IHK Lehrgang Green Consultant. Bei heute für morgen hält sie Workshops zu einzelnen Nachhaltigkeitsthemen, coacht Personen auf dem Prozess zum organisationellen Wandel und berät Unternehmen und Organisationen.

14 May: Sustainability for your Event: A Practical Approach (in English)

This webinar will focus on practical considerations on how to achieve great impact with simple means. It will look at the importance of small steps to accomplish your big ideas, how collaboration with regional partners is key to success, and ways of communicating with and engaging your audience.

Markus Wörl knows environmental commitment from practical experience. He was responsible for the programme of the Tollwood Festival in Munich, which has been dedicated to the topic of culture and the environment for more than 30 years. With his agency woerlpool, he advises the cultural sector on the topic of sustainability.

21 May: Green Touring - Best Practices from Music (in English)
11:00 - 12:30 CET | Fine Stammnitz of Green Touring Network
In this workshop, Fine will give an overview of the ecological impact of the touring and event sector, from the perspective of the music industry. It will be followed by techniques und tips on how to reduce the ecological footprint of your touring activities as an artist. She will share some good practice examples from the music sector that the performing arts can learn from and embed in their own touring activities. Your input is especially welcome and there will be plenty of room for questions.

Fine Stammnitz (B.A. Music Business, Popakademie Baden-Württemberg) is an independent sustainability consultant, founder of the Green Touring Network, founding member of Music Declares Emergency Germany, artist manager and co-founder of the band coaching program Zuendstoff Coaching.

28 May: Panel discussion: Touring Networks and long term strategies for tour planning (in English)

In this panel discussion, several arts industry professionals will present their involvement with local touring networks, and talk about how they are integrating sustainability when putting multiple-date tours together. We know that itineraries that make geographical sense inherently reduce distances and therefore greenhouse gas emissions, but what other excellent environmental benefits can be accomplished when sustainability is a key factor in the decision-making from the get-go? And does sustainable touring necessarily mean renouncing flying? Join us for a multifaceted conversation.
